By default, your SellApp storefront comes with a free subdomain that can be customized (e.g. admin.sell.app)

However, we completely understand when you want to use your own domain to personalize things and truly make your storefront your own. That's why we've added the custom domain ability to our platform, and made it free & easy to do so!

Step 1: Buy a custom domain

If you already purchased a domain name, skip ahead to Step 2.

If you don't already have a custom domain, you're going to want to buy one. We recommend Namecheap as they're easy, affordable, and have a great customer support team.

Step 2: Add your custom domain to SellApp

To set up your custom domain, go to Other Settings > Custom Domain and enter the custom domain you'd like your SellApp storefront to live on. You can specify anything from example.com to www.example.com or store.example.com

Step 3: Add a CNAME record to your custom domain's DNS settings

In your domain's DNS settings, create a CNAME record pointing your (sub)domain to "domain.sell.app"

NOTE: Don't enter your personal storefront URL (e.g. admin.sell.app) or our main site URL (sell.app), it has to be domain.sell.app that's entered.

These are the values for the record you should add:

Host/Name:

  • @ (if you'd like to use a root domain like example.com) OR

  • www (if you'd like to use www.example.com) OR

  • store (for a subdomain like store.example.com - "store" can be replaced with any word you'd like, including: buy, shop, purchase, etc.)

Value/Points To: domain.sell.app (Don't enter your personal storefront URL or our main site URL, it has to be domain.sell.app that's entered.)

Note: some registrars require a period at the end of the domain that's being pointed to. In which case, you enter: domain.sell.app.

Here’s how you need to configure it on some of the most popular registrars:

GoDaddy

Add a new CNAME record.

Host/Name:

  • @ (if you'd like to use a root domain like example.com) OR

  • www (if you'd like to use www.example.com) OR

  • store (for a subdomain like store.example.com - "store" can be replaced with any word you'd like, including: buy, shop, purchase, etc.)

Points to: domain.sell.app (Don't enter your personal storefront URL or our main site URL, it has to be domain.sell.app that's entered.)

OVH

Add a new CNAME record.

  • www (if you'd like to use www.example.com) OR

  • store (for a subdomain like store.example.com - "store" can be replaced with any word you'd like, including: buy, shop, purchase, etc.)

Target Name: domain.sell.app. (Don't enter your personal storefront URL or our main site URL, it has to be domain.sell.app that's entered.)

Note: OVH requires a period at the end of the link being pointed to, which is why you enter: domain.sell.app.

Cloudflare
